The Solution to Social Media Overwhelm

Sometimes, social media can seem endless. You are publishing on multiple platforms, you have several offers, and you are talking to all types of people every day.

There is a lot to worry about, and often it can feel like there is nothing you can do to get rid of the overwhelm.

So here’s what you do — SIMPLIFY.

Simplify to Avoid Confusion

There is no such thing as a confused customer. If someone on your page is confused, they just aren’t going to buy from you. So the key idea to understand is that simplification is necessary for the growth of your business.

Without simplicity, you will be overworked, your audience will be confused, and your inbox will be empty.

Figure Out Your Offers and Stick to Them

The first way to simplify your business is to figure out what you are best at, and what people want to buy, and just offer that thing.

At Power Creative Media, we have one focus — content repurposing. This is all we do, and we do it really well. There are two offers (the second just builds on the first), and that is it.

If you are coming up with custom offers for everyone that comes to your business, you are wasting so much time and energy. Of course it is ok to tweak your offers to fit different clients, but choosing one or two things to focus on with your business can go a long way towards reducing your stress.

Also, when you focus on one thing, it is a lot easier to establish yourself as an expert in that field!

Choose a Platform and Make It Your Priority

The next way to simplify your business and reduce social media overwhelm is to choose one social media platform and make it your priority. This doesn’t mean you aren’t posting across multiple platforms. This just means that your main focus is on one.

For example, with my business, I focus on Facebook. I make my content specifically for Facebook, I post everyday, and I have a group that I cultivate. About 80% of my business comes from Facebook.

This doesn’t mean I don’t still post on Instagram and LinkedIn, it just means that the content that goes on Instagram and LinkedIn was originally made for Facebook, and I often don’t put too much energy into platforms that aren’t Facebook.

Content That Builds Brand Awareness

Everything I post builds brand awareness. If this does not work for your business, that is fine! But find what kind of content is going to resonate with your audience and build on that. Once you have a decent following and good engagement with one platform, you can start giving some energy to a secondary platform.

Work With Someone Who LOVES Social Media

The best thing you can do to minimize social media overwhelm is to work with someone who lives and breathes social media.
